Green Technology In The News
We hear or see news every day about global warming, reducing our "carbon footprint" or saving energy. Whether you believe in global warming or not, look at your utility bill and you will find an incentive to save energy.
We use a lot of electricity keeping our technology running, here are some tips on how companies are reducing power consumption.
Becky Waring in PC World offers these power saving tips in her article, Power-Saving Tips: Save Money by Putting Your PC on a Power Diet.
Here she states "Refrigerators and washing machines aren't the only energy-guzzling appliances living in your house. Your PC and its peripherals account for a good chunk of your electric bill, too. When you consider that just one computer and monitor can suck up nearly as much power in a year as a new refrigerator, the benefits of a desktop energy audit become clear."
She suggest using the power savings features found in Windows Control Panel.
